It Pays To Pay Attention

The Duchess has had a vintage hat. It is was all feathers, deep crimson in color, and quite fragile.  She keeps kept it in the guest room high up on the dresser.

One day while sitting in her chair reading a book, something caught her eye.  She looked up from her book to see. . . .

Somehow Mister Higgins had gotten up on the dresser, pulled the hat down, dragged it down the hall, and completely destroyed it right at the feet of the Duchess while she read her book.

Trust me when I say you should all count your blessings that you were not here at the time!

I am innocent I tell you! Innocent!

I wonder if she was more angry with herself or with Mister Higgins :)

Kisses,

  2. Oh dear, not good:( And we bet the Duchess is more upset that she sat right through all the destruction totally unaware. We are sure that Mr. Higgins is quite contrite.

  6. Oh no! We are so sorry about the hat! Mom feels for you because she said I chewed up her couch when I was a puppy. I believe that Mister Higgins is innocent and I am innocent until we get our day in court. It really could have been squirrels sneaking in the houses. Love the picture of Mister Higgins with the look of "Who ME?" Lots of love, Holly and mom Psss: We really are sorry about your hat :( Finding things like that torn apart makes you want to scream!!!

  16. Your post sums up my day perfectly. My foster BC Maddie ate half the vanilla cake with chocolate frosting. **sigh** I baked it especially for my husband who was returning from a biz trip. Maddie, that sneaky girl, is okay. **sigh**

  19. While my coonhound, Daisy, thought it was very funny to read about the destroyed hat, I did not think it was funny at all, Mr. Higgins, and you should know why! You need to find some other toys to play with, young man! Hee-Hee!
