Play Day!

I was just thinking how everything looks greener on the other side of this fence, when.......

this young whippersnapper challenged me to a game of soccer.

He really thinks he's some kind of Jock.
See him egging me on?

I really don't think I want to do this, but. . .

Yikes!  Now he's kissing up to me!

Ok smarty pants, you asked for it!

Shall we dance?

You are in for it now buster.

I'm going to teach you a lesson in manners young man!

Take that!

Oh, so you think it's funny do you?

Run for your life you rug rat!

Learn it well, Mister Higgins.  I AM the Queen!

Crazy dogs!

Makes me tired just watching them.

Zzzzzzzzzzz.....

Kisses!

A New Look

UPDATE:  We posted this and all the fonts looked the same. I don't know what we did wrong because the preview shows all the different fonts. :(

Today we got brave and tried the new Blooger in Draft to change the look of our blog.  It looks kind of like the old one but is bigger!  Now we are going to try to put in some BIGGER pictures of your Queen to see if you approve.  Please let us know what you think, ok?

We will use some old favorites for our experiment. And while we are at it, we will try a new font.  Wow, this one is big.  I bet it is easier to read :)

Hmmm. I don't think you have seen this one before.  Well, maybe.  Hmmm.

This is me just being gorgeous! (Another font)

Well friends, I think we better post this and see what it looks like.  The Duchess and I are very challenged when it comes to this technology stuff, so please bear with us while we learn the hard way :)  PLEASE let us know if it looks wrong on your screen.  We still have the big old fashioned kind of monitor here :(

I Flunked Herding

It is true. I failed miserably. After several lessons it was quite obvious that what I had was "prey drive" not "herding instinct". After I got to chase the sheep around a bit I became totally bored with the whole thing. The Duchess was pretty sad. She really had her hopes up and for that I am truly sorry. However, I am a Queen, remember, and being Royalty I am entitled to smell the roses or follow the butterflies if that is what I choose to do. Chasing those sheep turned out to be far more work than I wanted. So, never again will you see pictures like this. . .

Or this. . .

Or even this. Nope. Never. Nada. Zip. Done.

Now that we have that behind us - let's move on, shall we?
I have gotten some wonderful news. There is a new Memorial being built on 5 acres for all of the pets that have been sickened or killed by pet food products. It is called Vindication. It is totally free to the pet owners to have their pets name put on a stone that will line the paths of this 5 acre garden. You can learn about it HERE. I think it is a beautiful thing these kind people are doing. And if you know of anyone who has lost a pet, or has a sick pet because of pet food products, please tell them about Vindication.

And one more thing - there's always more :)

We found this video today that made us all cry. It will reaffirm our resolve to support the fabulous people that work tirelessly in animal rescue. They are all HERO'S!

Sweetgrass is Coming to Oregon!

The Sweetgrass movie is coming to the NW Film Center in Portland, OR April 9th through April 12th. Very exciting for my Duchess!!! She sooooo wants to see this. If you, or anyone you know, have an interest in sheep herding and you live in Oregon, please pass the word!

If you can't see the whole video here is the link to the full size one.

Now back to our regular scheduled programming!

Things have been kind of crazy around the castle this week. The Duke crushed his finger while working on a car. He had to have three stitches to hold his nail bed in place and he broke the bone clean in half. YUK!!! Then the Duchess hurt her ankle and had to go to a "Foot Doctor". He gave her a brace for her ankle, some pills for the swelling, and A SHOT in her foot!!! Then, to add insult to her injury, he said "NO TREADMILL"for two weeks. Needless to say, the "fat" is here to stay for awhile. :) But the GOOD news is . . . . . .

We had another SUNNY day!

We all got to play outside.

Bear thought the grass was especially tasty today :)

And Higgins - well you all know he is just plain crazy.

But he's a cute nut case!

Throw it, throw it, throw it already!

Sometimes he looks like a clown, don't you think?

Ok, ok. I'm just picking on him.
But that's my job :)

Have a SUPER weekend!

And The Winner Is. . . . .

Do you remember this video of Mister Higgins after his first bath?

Well, way back at Christmas time the Duchess entered the video in a contest

at Koko's Pet Spa online, for the Best Bath Zoomie Award.

Guess who won?

Yep. Our own Mister Higgins.

The contest ran until mid January

and these prize things take awhile, you know.

But the prizes came and look at all this stuff!

Higgins was quite excited about it all.

He got a new toy, some yummy treats,
and a "Barnyard Friends Hooded Towel".

He wasn't too keen on the hooded towel . . .

So, being the gracious Queen, I offered to model it for you.

Also in the prize package was this really fancy

hand-held shower. I have never seen anything like it.

It has a cartridge inside of it that has vitamin C in it.

That is fabulously good for your skin you know!

We were all pretty excited until we realized that all this bath stuff meant
BATH TIME!!!

Higgins tried to escape!

But of course, the manly Duke caught him
and promptly deposited him in the doggie bathtub.

Check out that new shower head! The Duke loved it,
but Higgins - not so much :)

I thought the whole thing was pretty awesome
until I found out that I was next!!!

That is just not fair! When I said he had to share
I was talking about the treats, not the shower!!!
What's a girl to do?

Anyway, we both ended up a soft and sweet smelling ball of fluff.

But there is more -
As part of the prize, the generous people at Koko's Pet Spa included
a check for $100.00 payable to the winners favorite
shelter or rescue. Since Mister Higgins came from I.D.A.W.G.
( that means Idaho Domestic Animal Welfare Group)
he knew right away that the money should go to them.
They were so VERY happy when they got the donation.
Isn't that just neat? We thought so :)
