Trout Season Opening Day

We went camping at O'Dell Lake for the opening day of Trout season.  The Duke is the only one who cares about the Trout, but we all went along to play in the snow.  Mr. Higgins has never gotten to play in the snow before.  We didn't get enough snow this year to measure, but they got plenty at the lake.

It was a beautiful drive up.

When we got to our campsite we decide we probably didn't need to use the picnic table anyway.

But it was cold and we got to wear our new jackets.  Spiffy, huh?
It even snowed all day on Saturday.

The manly Duke does most of the cooking outside,
which suits the Duchess just fine.

We even had a campfire, but we didn't sit around it very much because it was way warmer inside the trailer!

We did do quite a bit of Chipmonk watching.

And Higgins got his first taste of snow play.

More rope please!

It was great fun!

I'm sorry we have not been visiting for awhile.  We hope to get caught up over the next few days.  Then maybe we will post some more pictures of our trip.  Thanks for visiting!

Mr. Higgins Gets A New Ball

The Duchess found this pretty soccer ball at a yard sale.  It needed a little more air in it so she knew it would be perfect for Higgins.

Of course the first thing he did was try to pick it up and shake it.

He figured out how to get a pretty good grip on it.

Now for the shake!

Game On!

Try to catch me!

I see you.....

I'm winning!

Thanks Duchess!  That was GREAT!

Yes, I think he likes his new ball.
Maybe he will go away and play,
and quit bugging me!
Now I must leave you.
I heard the word "bath" spoken this morning and
I'm outta here!

I Knew I Should Have Stayed Home!

The Duke had to go to the dump on Sunday so I decided to tag along.
My castle is in the country so we do not have a service that picks up our garbage.  Therefore, we must make the trip to the dump on a semi-regular basis.  When we got there the Duke gave this nice lady $28.00 and she gave me a little doggie cookie.  That is a lot of money for one little treat, but I guess I'm worth it because the Duke seemed happy and even thanked her!

After eating my cookie I looked out the window and got a little nervous when

I saw this sign

The Duke didn't act concerned however, so we drove in
and took our place against the fence.
I watched out the back window
while the Duke got started on his mission.

I was soon quite bored with that and decided to see
what was going on out this window.

Yikes!  More scary signs.

I get tired of having a camera pointed at me
so I gave the Duchess my famous "Evil Eye".

There seemed to be a great deal of activity out the other window.

Well I wonder where they all went?

This man pulled in next to us and I noticed something in his truck

So I jumped in the front seat to investigate.

Yep, I knew there was something going on over there!

And while I was staring at the occupants of the truck another one pulled in and  this guy started giving me a piece of his mind.  I decided to ignore him.

My manly Duke got his job done quickly so we could head back to the castle.

Thank goodness!  I was really exhausted by this time.

But when we got home I knew there was a reason I should never have left.  The natives are on the move and they were getting really bold in my absence!  Can you see both of them in this picture?

This one is just asking for a whooping!

Thanks for stopping by!

Where Did We Get Those Ice Cube Trays?

A number of you have asked where we got our new Paw Print Ice Cube Trays.  We ordered them from the Animal Rescue Site.  We thought they looked like a fun thing to have in our trailer when we go camping.  And they are!  But the neat part is, when you purchase them the Animal Rescue Site funds 14 bowls of food for animals in shelters.  It's a win-win thing, don't you think?

Camping In The Rain

We didn't have any family coming this weekend so we decided to go camping.  The weather has been improving so we decided to risk making a reservation.  Of course, the weather gremlins found out and it poured rain most of the time.

However, that was a good excuse to try out our new rain gear!  Don't we look stylish in our new jackets?  I know I showed them to you once before, but this is the first time we have actually gotten to wear them for real!  At least with our coats on we got to go for a very long walk down to the boat ramp on the river.

The Duchess would not take her camera out in the rain so I have no river pictures to show you.  I will tell you though, I marched right into the water.  Then I climbed on some rocks and jumped off into the freezing river.  The Duke and Duchess were speechless.

I got my new coat wet, but isn't that what a raincoat is for?  Anyway, it was great fun for me.   Mister Higgins did not like the water so much.  He is scared of everything at first.  That is the real reason I jumped in.  I wanted to show him there was nothing to be afraid of.  He wasn't buying it though.

Sir Bear really didn't care one way or the other.  He got a drink of water and that is all he cared about.

See my reflective stripes?  Cool, huh?

Here I am just hanging out in the trailer.

Here is the "Devil Dog".

When the Duke decide to take a nap we decide to ambush him
with a "DOG PILE"!!!!

Then we made ice cubes with our new ice trays.  They are sooooo cute!

After our walk we needed a long snooze to recover.

Then of course we played a little.
There is not much else to do when it is raining outside.

Sunday morning bright and early we packed things up and headed home.  Thankfully it stopped raining long enough for us to get everything unpacked and put away for next time.

I hope you all had a truly blessed Easter.

We did.
