When we are really good we get to chew on our rawhide bones.
I eat mine the fastest so the Duchess keeps a close eye on me.
Bear gets tired of chewing so he just dozes off when he feels like it's safe.
We also get carrots sometimes for a treat. I love carrots!
Higgins does not like carrots.
He's not too sure what to do with them.
Bear LOVES them. Well, Bear loves anything he can eat.
The Duke and Duchess decided to make bread (without the machine)
and Navy Bean soup with Ham. They sure made a mess out of the kitchen!
They took turns doing the kneading. The Duchess says it's hard work!
See how clean the oven is? that's because the Duchess doesn't cook. Really.
But she says she is going to learn. Better late than never, right?
But she says she is going to learn. Better late than never, right?
Can you smell it???? It was yummy!!!
We have been out of the loop the past week,
but we will try to get caught up!
Thanks for stopping by!
Kisses,
How dare that v-e-t say THAT word....
ReplyDeleteWe are glad to hear/see things have khalmed on that front -
The bones look nom nommie!
I get kharrots evFURRYnight after I eat my dinner - Khousins Merdie and Harley didn't like the raw but they both like 'em khooked!
The bread and the soup look furry tasty!

This is a great report to hear - Higgins, mind your manners and pay no attention to that vet.
ReplyDeletePhantom walks away from carrots, but TD and Ciara love them. They do make a bit of a mess as they break them all up into little pieces.
Bet that bread and soup were really tasty.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
miss emma rose,
ReplyDeletehooray for mr. higgins gettin' full of the manners again! i'm sorry the V-E-T mentioned that awful and most horrible like word. i don't think that was very nice or appropriate like at all. pretty please just keep ignorin' that.
me 'n asa loooove carrots at our house, too! we eat the little baby ones on top of our supper every night. yummy yummers! maybe mr. higgins would like the baby carrots better?
oh, and that navy bean soup 'n bread combo looks totally deeeeelish! the duchess and duke did a nice job! :)
*woof*
the booker man
That is just a horrible Vet to say something that stupid!!! We don't like that at all! We know the Duchess wasn't pleased one bit! Mister Higgins is a doll and just had a bad night. Holly does the same a lot of times but they said it's just the breeds in her from her mom. I haven't learned to cook yet (I tried it once but gave up)..your cooking sure looks so yummy!!! We love the way Sir Bear has his bone close to him while he takes a nap. The pictures are beautiful! Give those babies lots of hugs from us!!! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
ReplyDeleteI am sure glad that your mom didn't pay any attention to that vet!
ReplyDeleteI am with Mr. Higgins, I don't like carrots, either!
That dinner looks delicious!
Bunny
Yum, can I come over for dinner! We love Navy Bean soup here. Mom's secret ingredient is a dash of nutmeg in the soup. Oh man, Not a secret any more! Guess I spill the navy beans!
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear that Mr. Higgins has learned his place in life...never good to bite the hand that feeds and loves you!
Mmmm Bread and Carrots and Rawhide?! I've got my bag and stuffies packed. I'll be there for breakfast! :)
ReplyDeleteLicks,
Kylie
Glad Higgins is towing the line.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I don't think I'd think much of a vet that was so quick to suggest something so final.
The cooking looks great, you'll have that oven messed up in no time!
So glad Mister Higgins is doing better. I can't believe the vet mentioned that. I have to admit that in this particular situation...I would have to find a different vet. That really bothers me.
ReplyDeleteSometimes Vets are insensitive..I would have said "WHAT"..that is lousy advice. A behaviorist is a much better option..rules are good. We have rules here too..but sometimes we get a little slack. We should work on obedience everyday..but we spend lots of time playing ball.
ReplyDeleteBread from scratch ..we are impressed..and homemade soup..wish we could come for dinner:)
Oh frick! That should be 'toeing the line', not 'towing the line'. I feel embarrassed:) Happy birthday to me!
ReplyDeleteWhoa. Pretty stunned that the vet would say that! We all could use some training...furpals and hoomans :) Love the wonderful smells of that delicious meal! Haven't had too many carrots, but mmmmmmm :) Nice to see you pals :)
ReplyDeleteHugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,
Sierra Rose
I'm sure your mom was shocked when she heard what the vet said but glad that she didn't pay attention to him.
ReplyDeleteCarrots? Look yummy though but our Mika doesn't like it either.
I am appalled at the Vet's suggestion!
ReplyDeleteOther than that, this was wonderful post and save us some soup, we're on the way!
Happy Sunday,
~K and the Pups
Very glad to hear that Mr. Higgins is behaving himself. Anybody can have an off day, but it is very wise of you to be sure that he doesn't get the chance to misbehave again. In the horse world, it's called "making a good behavior easy, & making a bad behavior, impossible."
ReplyDeleteMy best to all of you ....
Hey, I made soup and bread yesterday, too! It must have been that kind of day. We give Cabana carrots, but only the baby ones or a small piece. I've never given her an entire full-size carrot before! Those pups are lucky!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that Higgins is being a good dog!
ReplyDeleteWe made a big batch of soup yesterday too. I guess it was just a soup kind of day!!
Wyatt
and I got a carrot too!
I think your vet is NUTS!!!!.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you dat mr Higgings is now a verry sweet puppy.
byebye,Lean
Oh my, nasty vet! How dare he say that! Dinner looks lovellllyyyy! I love carrots too, just like Bear I love most things, in fact I'll eat ANYTHING!
ReplyDeleteLicks
Casper Bear
Sorry your vet told you that. shame on him.
ReplyDeleteI am glad things have calmed down some.
Fred tests my patience weekly, its frustrating but I love him.
Hang in there!
Dang that is one clean oven!!!
Glad to hear you are getting help with Mr. Higgins, he is an adorable pooch! I always tell people that there is no such thing as bad dogs, you just need to understand what makes them tick! Keep working with him and it is going to make a difference.
ReplyDeleteYour dinner looks delicious and your oven looks like mine..nice and clean!!!!

We love it when our peeps cook. We all hang around hoping something hits the floor. We get to be tasters, too.
