And then - in the middle of it all - the Duchess became ill. Gallstones were suspected but an ultrasound turned out negative. Upon further testing, involving radioactive isotopes, it was discovered that her gallbladder was not functioning up to speed. It was still working, but not quite perfect. Some people live with that forever and have no problems. But in this case surgery was scheduled and work days were adjusted and family was notified.
Then a few days before surgery the Duchess had another attack.
Only this time she realized the pain was mainly on the left side - the Gallbladder is on the right. Back to the surgeon and back to the drawing board. Thankfully, and surprisingly, it turned out to be a bad food allergy. An easy fix after all that!!!
Then yesterday the Duchess had to have a tooth pulled and some bone in her jaw worked on. She spent the day on the couch moaning like a sissy. The pills they gave her really make her dopey. She had ice cream for dinner last night because "soupy ice cream tastes better than chicken broth". Well, I can't argue with that.
So, there you have it. Now you know where we've been and what's been happening. I have lot's to show you next time because we went camping and it was great!
Till then I will leave you with some pictures.
This is Bear visiting with our neighbor Oscar. He is an albino Doxie.
This is me playing hide and seek. Can you see me?
Here is Higgins first look at a swimming pool.
He did pretty good after a few minutes.
This is Higgins helping till the garden :)
See the basket on the right?
It has a surprise in it!
The Duke left this bird seed uncovered in the barn.
I told the Duchess something is not right . . .
YIKES! A Varmint!
The Duchess screamed and I tipped over the bucket. The mouse ran away and Bear ate the bird seed. All in the blink of an eye!
Kisses,
Phew! All the best to the Duchess!
ReplyDeleteLuna goes crazy over our rototiller, and the lawnmower, but is terrified of the weadeater. Weird huh?
Laughed about the mouse, is Bear part Lab? That would explain the quick gulping down of the bird seed maybe:)
Hi there, So sorry to hear about the Duchess feeling so poorly-I have had problems due to Gluten so am now gluten free and trying to get healthy. The photos of the whole group were cute. Reggie loves to eat bird seed that has fallen on the ground. Yuck with the visitor-glad he ran away.
ReplyDeleteHugs from Noreen & Reggie-dog
Sorry about all of the challenges, so now you deserve a great stretch of only good fortune.
ReplyDeleteWow, you have some serious excitement going on there. We sure hope the Duchess is doing much better - sounds very painful. And as for the mouse, we will send Thunder right over, he is very good at critter catching.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
SO sorry to hear the Duchess is so feeling well lately...take good care of her!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear the Duchess has had a bad run-in with some food. I can't stand rodents of any kind, but that little mouse critter is kinda cute.

That could be the awfullest and funniest post I've ever read! Poor Duchess, however... oh, how I feel for her - I hope she feels much better soon and keeps taking the making-dopey meds heheh! The surprise in the flower basket is amazing, but the surprise in the birdseed bucket was truly incredible - especially when the scream produced an upturned bucket with both mouse and seed gone heheh! Oh my gosh BOL!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs xoxoxo

Give the Duchess a hug from us - it sounds like this is one July she'd be happy to forget...
ReplyDeleteWe hope the Duchess is recovering nicely. Ice Cream soup sounds like the perfect dinner!
ReplyDeleteWow, there's a lot going on!! We hope everyone is feeling better soon. The little eggs in the planter are so cute. Guess that plant will have to live without water for a while.
ReplyDeleteThose darn mice get into everything if you're not careful.
Oh dear...
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that you have been feeling so poorly and that I've not noticed!
I really hope your surgery has gone well (have you finally had it?...I would imagine that you would have to wait for the teeth to heal up.
Either way - teeth, gallstones....I wish you a speedy recovery and am sending you lots and lots of healing vibes!
By the way, the photos on this post are truly wonderful!!! I love the birds eggs and the mouse shots.
Hope the doggies enjoy their pool too.
Sending lotsaluv
