Vacation is Over - The Guests Have Departed

All of our company has left town and the castle is back to normal.

The Duchess had a wonderful visit with the Matriarch and the Beautiful Young Sister.

And we had a good time playing with the Two Year Old Nephew.

He and Bear were buddies.

He found out the Pocket Chuck-it was the perfect size for him and Higgins was a real pest most of the week.  But we are all proud of Higgins because he was pretty calm about all the activity. And three children running around the last few days didn't even bother him!

We all enjoyed having the little one around.  However, there were a few things that got very confusing.

First off, we lost our bed.  Seems the little guy liked it and every time I went to lay down he was already there!

Then our pool became a Sandbox!

We had a few occasions when the little guy looked like this. . . .

And a few occasions that we looked like this. . .

But all in all we each had fun in our own way.  The Duchess took hundreds of pictures, but most of them were of people.  I am not at all happy about that, but this time I will let it slide.  After all, they were family from far away.  I can have my picture taken anytime and I'm sure we will make up for lost time!

I am so glad to be back.  I missed you all very much.

Kisses,

Camping With Lady G - Part Two

I meant to post this yesterday, but the Duke and Duchess were in a mad hurry to scrub the castle down, and spiff up the grounds. Seems we have visitors on the way.  The Duchesses parents, the Matriarch and Patriarch, are coming.  Also, the Beautiful Young Sister and her two year old son will be here.  It promises to be very exciting and I'm sure I will have quite a few stories to tell you when everyone goes home.

Today I want to share with you the rest of the pictures from our trip with Lady G.

This picture shows me guarding the campsite.  I had a perfect view from the top of my grassy hill.  No one could approach without me seeing them.

Mister Higgins found a piece of kindling and we had a good time trying to steal it from each other.

As soon as I win I get bored.  I just want him to know I can win - always!

The park had a resident C.A.T. named Timber.
She was black and white, just like me, but Higgins wasn't fooled.
"That's no Border Collie!"

So of course he grabbed his weapon of choice!

Even Lady G's shoes were made for a Princess :)

She has his undivided attention here.

And here.

And here!

Yummy...Giraffe for lunch!

And look what I found when no one was looking!

BACON!!! Completely unattended by humans.
Can you believe it?
Score!

I am so glad you came by to visit.  I will be gone again for awhile because of our visitors.  But even if I don't post, I will try to visit all of you.  Also, I have had several friends ask about our camera and what settings the Duchess uses for our action shots.  I will be putting up some information in my side bar as soon as I can.

The Grand Daughter (or A Duchess in Training)

We went camping again - back to the same place - over the huge bridge.  But this time we took the Grand Daughter, "Lady G".  Things started out a bit shaky. Mister Higgins was very rude and frightened Lady G before we even hit the road.  The Duchess had to convince him that little girls are not scary.  Then she had to explain about dogs and their fears to Lady G in hopes that the two would become fast friends.

When Higgins realized that little girls can throw a ball he was instantly in love.  If she had the ball, she had his admiration.  Over the next four days there was much ball throwing!

Here is our campsite on the first day.  Lady G was enjoying an ice cream cone while we rested from the long trip.  Higgin's crate hasn't even made it inside yet.

This is Lady G.  She is my new BFF.

And she wears cool jeans!

Bubbles were a huge hit.  The Duchess found some giant wands and everyone had a good time with them.

I spent some time, of course, keeping Mister Higgins in line.

Sometimes he would kiss up to me. . .

And then we were back at it!

Higgins was not sure what to make of those bubbles.

I thought they were rather intriguing.

Lady G thought so too.

He only looks confused because he is :)

We went for walks quite often.

I had a wonderful time with Lady G.

She gives great hugs!!!

We have more pictures to share with you, but this is enough for today.  We are having a very hard time with Blogger for some reason.  Maybe tomorrow it will work right :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Kisses,
