A Present? For Me?

The Duke and Duchess told me they bought a BIG present for me and it was in the garage. I got so excited I ran to see what it was.
Right away I knew it was a "set up". There was soap, and water, and a towel, and YIKES! It's a giant bath tub!!! Oh no!

It's not that I'm not grateful, but I have to figure out a way to get out of here fast!

Please let me go, please let me go, please let me go . . .

Do you know what a Bossie looks like when she is "crazy wet"?

Now I can totally relate to that "Deer in the headlights" thing!

Something Smells Fishy to Me

Someone dug a hole in one of the Duke's flower beds today. They suspect that I did it, but they can't prove a thing! Thing is, I didn't do it - Sir Bear is the guilty party. I think I'm being framed!

Why is it when the Duke and Duchess dig holes in the yard it is OK, but when I do it I get in trouble? Humans are just plain irritating.

Free to Run

At last! I’m free again! After three long days as a captive in the castle, I am out in the fresh air once again! I am restricted to the “immediate” back yard today, but at least I am outside.

We had a very busy weekend clearing and burning brush. It rained both days but that was ok with the Duchess. She does not like burn piles. Unfortunately, it has to be done to reduce the fire hazard in the coming months. Burning to prevent fire – humans do strange things!

I gave a nice card to the Duke for Father’s Day and it made him very happy. I even let Bear sign it too, because I am a good and kind Queen. I hope you all had a wonderful Fathers Day!

Here is the Duke standing in the trees. We just had all the dead limbs taken off and you can see there is a bunch of clean up work to do.

This is me! I love running on the paths through the trees. It's soooo fun!

Here is the Duke starting his first burn pile. You can barely see the top of the brown picnic bench just past the fence post. It was almost completely overgrown.

Now you can see the picnic bench and a lot more! The Duke and Duchess worked hard all day. The Duchess said it was a "Four Advil" kind of day. And the Duke said they are about 25 percent finished.

Rapunzel, Rapunzel

I’ve done it again. I’m not quite sure how I get myself into these situations, but here’s what happened . . .

Yesterday when the Duchess arrived home from work I did not greet her with a “full body wag” and my normal “wiggle butt”. Instantly she was concerned and asked me if I was feeling poorly. Of course I was panting from the day’s activities, but she was convinced there was more to it.

When the Duke got home my “condition” was discussed and it was determined that I had spent too much time running and chasing things all day. Initially I was restricted to the cold tile floor in the kitchen (I really love that floor). Then The Duchess let me come outside with her, but made me stay by her side. That was a bit irritating, but I didn’t fuss too much because I really was tired.

HOWEVER, after a full night’s sleep I was ready to run bright and early this morning. But when The Duchess left for work she confined me to the castle! And she locked the door! And she took the key! (Of course, a key wouldn’t do me any good since I can’t open the door anyway). But my point is –

I AM BEING HELD CAPTIVE IN THE CASTLE!!! SEND HELP!!!

I'm Nearly Famous!

If you have read “my story” about where I came from, you already know I was adopted through Pacific Northwest Border Collie Rescue. They have a new blog with some wonderful success stories on it and I’m on there now too! It’s terribly exciting, you know. Helping a rescue animal find their forever home is what they do. And they do it so well. We will always have a big soft spot in our hearts for PNWBCR. If you would like to read the stories you can check it out “right here”!

Primping

Have you ever wondered how a Queen always appears so "naturally" beautiful?
Well let me tell you it is hard work! The amount of primping is just unbelievable!

However - it is sooooo worth it!

Don't you agree?

It's All About Me

This soft fur is the envy of many . . .

And this smile could melt the coldest heart . . .

Yep. . . I am seriously attractive!

But don't hate me because I'm beautiful. . .
Love me because I am your humble Queen!

The Royal Misdeed

I’m kind of sad today.
I did something wrong, broke the rules, and scared my poor Duchess to death.
It’s been a week now, but I still get sad when I think about it.

The day the Duchess painted the pink/brown gate she left me in the back yard with Sir Bear. She told us she would be too busy to keep an eye on us, so we had to stay in the yard. Well, a little while later the Duke came in for a glass of water and when he went back out to the fence line he let us go with him. (That’s when Bear got the pink paint on his head from pushing on the new gate.)

Nobody was really paying attention to us so we kind of wandered around sniffing the bushes and stuff. But since no one told us not to go any further, we just kept going. We went across the neighbors pasture, into the tree line and headed up the mountain to see what we could find to do.

No one knows exactly how long we were gone before we were missed – but boy oh boy did all heck break loose when the Duchess couldn’t find us! The neighbors helped and they all fanned out in different directions calling our names really loud.

By the time we trotted happily back to the “scene of the crime” the Duchess was in tears. She never blamed the Duke but he felt really bad like it was all his fault. Anyway, I feel bad because I upset everyone.

But just between you and me, we had a BLAST! No, I probably won’t try it again. Besides that, I don’t think the Duchess will ever take her eyes off us again. *sigh*
