Shelter Cove Resort

We had a wonderful time on our camping trip, and I brought pictures back just like I promised! Make sure you click on the pictures to enlarge them.

Here we are all ready for the big adventure.
The Duke told the Duchess there might be "a little bit" of snow left at the campgrounds. The Duchess doesn't like snow on the roads.
Uh oh. . . . .

Well at least the sign wasn't buried in snow!

And the sun was shining too!

But, there was a "bit" of snow here and there!

So -what do you do in a winter wonderland? You play!

Look! I'm a snow bunny!

Better shake that snow out of my fur.

When the wind blows from behind you get a funny hairdo!

Yippee! I can fly!

Look at me! I'm a snowball!

Yikes! That hat could even scare a Queen!

These are my friends Jazzy and Friday. Jazzy only looks mean!

We were pretty tuckered out at the end of the day.

Going Camping

The Duke and Duchess have been loading up the 5th wheel again. Looks like we're heading out to O'Dell Lake for opening day of fishing season. The Duchess doesn't fish but she can take us for walks while the Duke is out fishing with the guys. It will be nice to get away from the Mean Dog drama for a little while. So have a great weekend, everyone, and I'll bring home pictures to share with you next week!

A Get Well Card

Today I received a real Get Well card in the mail! It came from the Duchesses mother and was addressed to me! It even had stickers on the envelope with little dogs and paw prints. How about that? I thought it was pretty special.

The Mean Dog

This is the Mean Dog. Even though he looks kind of happy in the first photo, I don't think he is. The Duchess took these pictures through the window with a zoom lens. She still feels sorry for him, but not sorry enough to get a better picture!

The Royal Recovery

The sun is shining and I am back on all four paws! The collar is history, (as long as I behave and don't chew) and my paw looks pretty darn good. I went out back today to watch the Duke work on my new fence, but I kept a close watch over my shoulder in case the Mean Dog came back. He is still there but he's on a long chain now. The Duchess feels sorry for him. She says it is not the dogs fault that he's mean. But I don't care who's fault it is, I just want him to stay away! I would like to thank all of you, my loyal friends, for your concern and well wishes. It has been a very trying time for me and your kind words were the best medicine! Bless you all!

The Confrontation!

So, what do you think? A little over the top?
Well, I am a Queen you know.

Anyway, we have some news on the Mean Dog. Last night The Duke was walking up the driveway and the Mean Dog went after my Duke!!! Of course the Mean Dog was on the other side of the fence - thank goodness - but none the less he would have really hurt The Duke if the fence wasn't there. The Mean Dog's owner called her dog off and that gave the Duke the opportunity to talk to her about her vicious animal. He told her that he just got back from taking me to the Vet because of her dog and asked her to "kindly keep him off of our property". He told her that we are on our own property, and we are behind a fence, and it's not fair that we have to be afraid to go out in our own yard!!! Yay! My Duke is so strong and manly!!! The lady offered to pay the Vet bill but the Duke said no, "just keep your dog on your own property". Ha! Take that! Mean dog lady!!! Meanwhile, I must suffer along . . . . .

Update On The Royal Injuries

As you can see, I went to the Royal Physician this afternoon, and I am really unhappy with him. The indignity of wearing this contraption is almost more than I can bear! Evidently he does not trust me to not tend to my own injuries, so to speak. Well, I never!!! There is a puncture wound in my paw and it's torn, most likely from the mean dogs teeth. Grrrrr! They tell me I will have to take antibiotics and wear this hideous get-up for two weeks!!! Can you even imagine that? I am absolutely fit to be tied. . . . .
Seriously though, if I must endure this don't you think the Duchess should glue on some ruffles and lace? Something more befitting a Queen? If they call it an Elizabethan Collar then I think it should look like one.

The Wounded Queen

There is a very mean dog that visits our neighbor across the road. He's been coming a lot lately and he always comes on MY property and tries to fight with me and Sir Bear through the fence. Today it happened again, but this time I got hurt. Somehow I tore the pad on my right front paw. I couldn't walk on it and there was lot's of blood. The Duchess was beside herself with fury (and worry). She wants to march over to that house and give them a piece of her mind. However, she's afraid of their dogs. They have about 5 big ones when the mean one is visiting and they scare her. If she can't figure out how to talk to the people, and the mean dog keeps me from enjoying my OWN yard, the Duchess said she will have to call the Sheriff. The Duke and Duchess have lived in the castle for 15 years and never had mean dogs in the area. Everyone around here knows each other and are friendly neighbors. These people are not sociable and no one knows anything about them except that they have mean dogs visit them. I will probably have to go to the Vet tomorrow.
I hate mean dogs.

Dog Party

This is my friend Tank. He only looks scary. He's really a marshmallow!
This is Tank's sister, Ice. She's named for her blue eye.

This is me and Remington. He's an oldie but a goodie.

And here is our party. The males were talking about "guy stuff"
so we ladies got bored and moved on.

Bloggers Community Photo Challenge

We took this picture last weekend of a volunteer Daffodil by our driveway and now we have a reason to post it. This is our first entry in the Blogger Community Photo Challenge. The picture was taken in Clackamas County, Oregon.

The Camera

Earlier in the week the Duchess was telling her boss how disappointing it is not to be able to take good action shots of me. She would like to buy a better camera but knows nothing about photography. Well, this morning her boss walked in and handed her his fancy camera and said "Take it home for the weekend and play with it". "Are you serious?" said the Duchess. "Of course I am. Take it home and see if you like it. You can't hurt it unless you drop it" replied the boss. So, WOW a REAL camera! I was so excited I just had to share my first pictures with all my friends. Hope you like them! (You can click on them to enlarge.)
The Duke took this one and it's the Duchesses favorite.

Here I am having a little salad.

This is me and Bear, of course, charging at the Duchess.

This is bear having a good time.

Look at me go!

I'm so excited!

Here I am again with my feet off the ground.

And here I am on one foot.

What a fun photo shoot that was. I can't wait until tomorrow. The weatherman said we were going to have a nice weekend. I'll bet we get some great pictures. So, tell me, what do you think of the loaner camera? Think the Duchess needs one?
